In case you were left wondering "what the heck?" ... after our latest gig announcement, no Terry, Leroy, Greg and co. are not heading over here to Ireland to play for the Cork Jazz Festival weekend! (although we'd love to have them here anytime!) ... instead there are now two great lineups of The Shinkickers - one for Ireland, and one for Australia. Both bands will continue to play a great mix of blues, classic rock, celtic rock and originals with Gerry of course playing his eclectic mix of guitars and other things with strings!
To celebrate reaching 300 likes on The Shinkickers Facebook page, we have posted another great Shinkickers track on Reverbnation - this time from the Paul Daly era, featuring Paul himself on vocals & harmonica, with Roy Daniel on 6-string bass, Ace Follington on drums (who are both now in Paul's own band The Heavy Hitters), Terry Pugh on keyboards/hammond organ and of course Gerry Quigley on guitar.
You can play the new track from our playlist to the right of the page, or click on the Reverbnation logo in this story. The newly-uploaded track was written by Paul Daly himself ... it's titled "Bury Me Deep" ... a big thank-you to our loyal fans and to all of our new fans as well ... you make it all worthwhile ... enjoy the music!
The Shinkickers claimed their No. 1 position on the Reverbnation Blues music charts this week, a fantastic effort for a band who have seen many changes since their last gig in Perth on December 11th 2012.
Hitting No. 1 this week demonstrates an overwhelming show of support from everyone - thank-you for listening to the playlist on Reverbnation. You can listen directly from this website at right of the page. At this rate, we had better put up some more tracks!
We would like to celebrate the occasion with a little bit of fun in the form of a competition ... up for grabs is a rare copy of The Shinkickers classic album Broken Down Blues.
It's official, The Shinkickers are still alive & kicking in 2013 after 22 years and Gerry Quigley will be returning to Perth for a month of gigs with The Shinkickers. Gerry has confirmed venues for Friday nights, Saturday nights, and Sunday sessions for a month however the dates have not yet been set. There are a lot of projects in the pipeline, as soon as dates can be booked the month of Perth gigs will be announced. We are eagerly looking forward to the announcement!
The Shinkickers slammed No. 2 on the Reverbnation Blues music charts this week which is a huge jump up from No. 10 last week!
So in order to celebrate and say thankyou to everyone who has listened to the playlist we've posted some more Shinkickers tracks on Reverbnation ... which you can also play right here on The Shinkickers website from the playlist at the right of the page.
Each time you play a track not only will you be listening to some great music, you will also be helping to boost our ranking on the Reverbnation music chart.
The added tracks are from the "Broken Down Blues" album which features Geoff Bushby on vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica, Leroy Cleaver on drums & percussion, Terry Pugh on hammond organ, piano & synth, Neil Bushby on bass and of course Gerry Quigley on electric guitar, 12-string, mandola, and slide guitar.
